“She was married to said soldier under the name of Sarah Copeland at Suffolk, Virginia by Rev. Jacob Daughtry … Henry Faulks was previously married.  His wife died some years prior to his marriage to undersigned.  He left one son, Benjamin, by this former marriage.  This son is also deceased….All children of soldier are above the age of 35″

“I, Sarah Faulks, aged 86 … married Henry Faulks in Suffolk, Virginia, to the best of my memory in the year 1863.  That we had the following children: Alex, Joe, John, Mary, and Sally.”*

*She wrote that Henry Faulks’ children with his first wife were Rosa and Victoria.”
