Norfolk Barrel Factory, April 28, 1890 [letter]

The proprietor H. Parker explained to a vendor:

“I was willing to use your staves during the Season but it was impossible For me to wate [sic] on you a month For a car of Staves after I ordered them. I could not get the staves in time and Had to order from another parties or Stop workin [sic]. Also times are dull in the Truck Barrel Business … Barrels are Selling at 20 cts a piece. There is a very Small proffit [sic] in the business … I am Willing to deal with you (over) when I need Staves if you will Garraentee [sic] to to [sic] deliver the Staves in propper [sic] time.”
